Safari Highlights

Day 1: Arrival to Kigali and Transfer to Gisenyi

This tour will start with pick up from Kigali International Airport or your Kigali hotel, and then set off from Kigali to Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu for overnight. On arrival at the lodge you will check in and take your well-deserved rest in preparation for the hiking.

Overnight: Goma

Day 2: Transfer to Nyiragongo Volcano

On this day you start your journey to Nyiragongo volcano hike, drive towards Nyiragongo Mountain, arrive before 0800hrs at Kibati ranger post, you will start the hike up Nyiragongo at around 10:00am. The hike takes about 6 hours depending on your speed and fitness. You may hike in fewer hours or take more time. The trail is through the forested areas, lava flows and the open space. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful views of the boiling lava with red glow from the crusted lava and can have pictorial moments.

You will spend the night at the crater on tents

Day 3: Descend from Nyiragongo and transfer to Kigali via Goma.

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali Airport

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, a warm welcome awaits you as you are greeted and transferred to the Rwanda–DRC border at Grande Barrière (La Corniche).We will assist you through the customs process, ensuring a seamless crossing into the Democratic Republic of Congo. Once you’ve entered the DRC, your journey continues with a scenic drive to either the bustling city of Goma.If time permits undertake city tour of Goma town.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Virunga NP

After an early breakfast, you will depart for Parc National des Virunga, where your unforgettable gorilla tracking adventure begins. Upon arrival at the starting point, we will complete the necessary park formalities before setting off on a once-in-a-lifetime journey into the heart of the forest. Led by expert guides, you will venture deep into the lush terrain in search of the rare and majestic mountain gorillas. You’ll spend a full hour in the presence of these gentle giants, observing their interactions and feeling an incredible sense of connection to the wild. Thereafter drive back to Goma town, have lunch then drive back to Rwanda

After an early breakfast, you set off on the road to Kahuzi Biega National Park, the anticipation growing with every passing mile. The two-hour drive is a journey through breathtaking landscapes, as lush forests and towering hills give way to the untouched wilderness that lies ahead. Upon arrival at the Kivange headquarters, undergo the necessary registration formalities, and be to your forest guide, then embark on a once-in-a-lifetime trek to meet the lowland gorillas of Congo.Spend an hour in their presence thereafter drive back to Bukavu town, on arrival proceed to the border then enter Rwanda, continue to Kigali for overnight.
